Navy Turns 31 Months!

Dear Navy,

    Another month has gone by, yet again.  These months are flying and we're constantly staying entertained by you.  You're liveliness is infectious.  God made you so so perfect for our family.  It's been so fun to see you flourish this month with in talking and learning.  We pretty much consider you a genius, ha!  :) One thing is for sure, we adore our Navy-dog!!

What you'd been up to this past month:

- says Thank "YOU" (in a high pitch voice) - pretty much the cutest sound

- has peed in the toilet 2-3 times 

- even though you've never watched a spider man movie, didn't have any spider man book or toy, you loooove spider man.  In particular, your spider man pj's set that is now too small for you to wear that you refuse to take off for days at a time.   So, we had to get you some more that you were super hesitant about because it wasn't "the" pj's you liked the most.  

- loves to sing the Happy Birthday song 

- successfully working on putting on your pants and shirts on by yourself 

- STILL loves the water table

- loves bubbles + pouring them out onto the ground, ha

- yes "man" is your "yes, ma'am"

- you love to say, "watch this," when you want us to look at you

- your water table is your favorite toy

Navy Turns 22 Months Old! ADD PHOTO

Navy,

My my how cool of a little dude you are.  You have such a fun personality.  You're definitely on your own program.  You like things your way and you'll let us know.  It's been a fun month with you watching you grow and become aware of more and more.  This month we sent big brother off to Kindergarten so it's just you and me buddy.  You have definitely kept me on my toes and to keep my mind off big brother being gone, we've been busy.  You've been my errand buddy.  And a handsome one at that!

This is how your month went:

- new word: "dat!" aka that

- loves to put lids on containers.  Every time we give you a sippy cup, you must put the lid on it.  Every time we fill up your bottle with milk, you must put the lid on the milk container.  

- you're awesome at telling us that you need your diaper changed when you've pooped.  You'll come up to us with bended knees and with your hands on your diaper while giving out this "eek" noise and when we ask you if you need your diaper changed, you'll run over to the spot we change your diaper at when we are down stairs.  

- wears size 2T clothing
- loves the song by Matt Maher "Because He Lived" he will start to dance and hum to the words. 

- get told constantly that you look big for your age.  

- loves to dance.  Mainly because you know it makes us smile, laugh and want to eat you up.

- anytime mama wears a shirt with letters on it, you always point to them so that she can say each of them to you.  Over and over and over.

Navy Turns 20 Months!

Our sweet Navy-boy,

     We still couldn't feel more blessed that we've gotten to love on you for 20 months now.  Not to mention, we get to love on you and watch you grow forever.  How cool!  You're pretty darn amazing in our book.  The past month has been another great month with you.

Here's what you've been up to lately:

- you LOVE your guitar and dancing to the songs.  You step back and forth while moving your hand to the beat.  You've got 2 favorite songs and you know exactly how many times to push the button to make those songs play.  It's pretty amazing

 - you're still loving getting your numbers read to you, both in the living room (where we have a set in a bowl for you) and in your room (the ones that hung on the wall).  Each time we put you to bed and right when you wake up you grunt and point to them letting us know that you want us to say them.  And we have to do it over and over, ha.  

- still loving your bottles with milk.  We are still working on getting you to take milk in sippy cups.  Right now, every time we give you milk in a sippy cut you push it away.  

- you love to take baths.  Sometimes if it's too hot outside during the day, mama will let you play in a bath with toys and bubbles.  

- you're wearing size 6 shoe now

- you're still going through the exact same clothing Bossy wore.

- you love water and swimming in our hot tub in the backyard.  

- you are still limited in your words which we aren't yet worried about.  You're only saying about 4-5 words.  But you definitely great at letting us know when you want more milk when you walk up to the fridge and grunt and try to open it.  :)

- not a fan of taking photos.  Mama's pretty sure that you know when the "big black thing" comes out you run for the hills.  And you certainly don't want to sit or stand next to brother for a photo.  These monthly photos are becoming a challenge for mama.  :))

We're excited to see all of the next and funny things you to this next month.  Until then...

Navy Turns 19 Months!

Oh Navy-boy,

     You are pretty dang amazing.  You have become quite the little charmer, lately.  And mama probably tells you about 10 million times a day how much she loves you.  She just can't get enough of you.  And you can't be away from her either!  You're definitely her sidekick.

Here's what you've been up to lately:

- you know how to make us laugh and will do whatever it takes to make that happen

- we haven't figured it out but every time we sit down as a family to pray before a meal you get so mad.  You yell after we all say, "Amen." We have to hurry and change the subject and move your focus to something else.  

- you are still obsessed with doing your "numbers."  You know exactly where the bowl is that they are in and you'll point to them and then sit down in the living room floor so that we can lay them out and count to you.  It's pretty dang awesome.  Brother does a great job at practicing with you, too.

- You started learning the shapes: triangle and heart along with numbers 6-10

- you're still not a fan of us dropping you off at the church nursery.  But after the drop off and we are no longer in sight you do well.  Although, it might be because they pamper you.  :)

- wearing size 5 shoe

- you still LOVE to drink your milk out of a bottle and not sippy cups

- you've started saying, "more" which is more like "moo"

- obsessed with water and swimming 

- wearing 18-24 months clothing

- wearing size 5 diapers

You're one amazing little fella.  Thank you for loving us so much.

Navy Turns 16 Months - Wowzers!

Dear Navy,

     Holy smokes, we're already talking about your 16th month?!! Totally crazy how fast that went.  You have been such an awesome baby.  We still tend to think of you as a baby because the word toddler just sounds so old.  :)  Your little personality is really starting to shine through.  You're more vocal and mobile and really sweet.  We can tell that you're gonna have a gentle spirit.  You are not a fan of loud things.  Like, when you do something awesome and dada says, "Yayyy!!" you curl your bottom lip down and have a total meltdown.  We still can't figure out why that sets you off.  But it too is pretty cute.  For that reason, you still won't clap for us.  Because every time we've ever wanted to you clap we say, "Yayyy!" so now we think you correlate that with clapping.  You've only thrown a handful of tantrums but when you do it's the cutest to watch.  Even though it's a little sad because our communication barrier is what causes it.  The way you tell us that you don't want anymore of a certain food is by throwing it on the ground.  So, in a way, you're also upfront about things.  One more cool fact about you,  when you are eating and we tell you to "drink some water" you reach back and grab your sippy cup to drink your water that we have hanging from your chair.  It's fun to know that you know what we are saying even though you aren't talking yourself.  :)

Here's how awesome you were this month:

- you now have 10.5 teeth
- when we ask you if you want to watch your movie, you will walk over to your little bouncer chair, sit down and kick your legs in excitement.  Ha
- you know 3 words in Spanish: leche (milk), queres (want), aqua (water)
- you also know what mama means when she says, "Donde Esta?" that means "where is?" 

- you got your first haircut on January 23rd

- you know where your ear is (but we clapped and said, "Yay!" the first time you touched your ear when asked and now you won't do it anymore)

- LOVES reading books.  Your favorite being your book called First 100 Words

- loves to food
- you have a latch board toy that you love to open doors to.  Behind those doors are animals and you know that when you open the door we will say the animal name and then the sound and every-time you open a door now, you'll look up at us as if you're waiting on us to say the animal and make the sound.  Ha.  Makes us laugh.

- when you push your airplane around the house you've figured out how to navigate it and turn it so that it doesn't hit walls or run into anything

- still a mama's boy.  You'd rather mama hold you over anyone (even dada)

- you don't like walking in public.  In fact, you haven't walked in public once.  You'd rather be carried.

- sleep great at night.  Although, for the past 3 weeks you'll wake up at 5am, we'll give you a bottle and then you'll sleep until 8am

- we started trying to wean you off the pacifier at night and it's been going really good

- you love to move the curtains and run through them and behind them

- you are trying to veto your 2nd nap.  But we still get those in most days.

- by the end of the month you are completely weaned off of your pacifier!  Great job, kid.

Navy Turns 15 Months!

Dear Navy,

    What a month!  These months are going by so fast and make us so sad.  We can't believe that you're approaching 18 months.  But let's not get ahead of ourselves.  What we do love is that you make us so proud.  You have really grown into a cool little guy.  You are starting to show your personality more and more, and it's a really sweet one.  Keep up the good work, kid!

Another amazing month with you!

Here's how it went down:

- you're still a champ at eating pretty much everything we give you

- you love to be held by mama

- you love to put your hand up to your mouth to make noises

- you take 2 naps a day now

- you still sleep great through the night

- you're in a size 4 shoe
- you love when we sing songs to you.  Your favorites are, Jesus Loves Me and the Wheels On The Bus

- you know what water is when we tell you to drink it.  You reach back behind your chair and pull your sippy cup up to drink.

- you know what "movie" is.  You love your Baby Einstein movies and squeals when you know its coming on.
- you celebrated your 2nd Christmas
- you celebrated your 2nd New Year's with us

- you do not like it when brother takes things away from you

- you have the cutest tantrums - you lay face down on the floor and cry.  Sad but adorable.

Navy Turns 14 Months!

Here's a recap of your pretty awesome month:

- you are starting to show more interest in walking 

- you love to walk around and push your helicopter that you got for your birthday
- you celebrated your 2nd Thanksgiving
- you started drinking lactose-free milk
- you are trying to say Bubba
- you took your first steps on December 8th after Bossy's Christmas program at school
- you can now hold your own squeeze pouch to feed yourself
- you wear a size 4 shoe
- you started full on WALKING a few days before turning 14 months!!  And we caught it on video!!

You're one amazing little guy.  We love you so much and look forward to another month with you to see how much you advance!

Navy Turns 13 Months!

Dear Navy,

We are so proud of you.  Proud of the little guy that you've become.  You are so kind and sensitive and we love it so much.  Every day is so fun with you and we love getting to watch you grow.  You've grown a lot in a year.  We'll look back on photos from this time last year and you were just a tiny little fella.  This year you look like a giant.  :)  We are so excited to see how much you evolve in the coming months.

- you went to your 1 year checkup on October 19th and you weighed 20.14 lbs and you were 30.5 inches long!
- you had your 1st birthday party on October 17th
- on your birthday we noticed that you were allergic to eggs or milk
- you had to get blood drawn for an allergy test
- on October 26th we found out you were "extremely" allergic to peanuts, egg whites, almonds, cashews and dogs.  And slightly allergic to milk, wheat and soy
- you love to swing on your swing on our back patio
- you're very sensitive and sweet
- you are about to be in a size 4 shoe
- you wear all of your brothers clothes and shoes
- you love to open cabinet doors
- you love Jets water and food bowl
- you love to take baths and splash the water
- you will mimic a coughing noise if you hear one.  It's so cute!
- VERY much a mama's boy
- you aren't taking to cows milk just yet
- you walked with your walker for the first time November 12th but wasn't able to get it on video

Navy Turns 12 Months!

Happy 1st Birthday, to our amazing son!!

What an eventful month this started out to be!  

Here's how your month went:

- you cut your 4th tooth and two back top molars.  ouch

- you now have 8 teeth.  2 top and bottom front teeth and 4 back molars

- you started to transition into size 12-18 months

- you wear size 4 shoe

- you still love to do "back and forth"

- you still nurse but I have been weaning you off; only nursing in the morning and evenings

- you love to eat

- you started practicing walking but you really show no interest

- you traveled to the Bahamas to celebrate Bubba's 5th birthday

- you are so sweet and gentle.  We can really tell you're gonna have a gentle spirit

- you don't like loud abrupt noises

- you are very much still a mamas boy

- you don't like leaving mama and going into the church nursery.  

- you laugh at big brother who tries to make you laugh

- you like to look at babies and love to see yourself in the mirror

- you still love your car seat and sleeps well in it

- you always wake up so happy.  Every morning you move around in your crib holding your blankets and paci while making sweet noises like your talking to yourself.  You don't ever really fuss when you wake up unless something is really wrong.

- you sleep amazing.  Mostly from 8pm - 7am.

- you still wear cloth diapers when we stay home all day

- you went to your 1 year checkup on October 19th and you weighed 20.14 lbs and you are 30.5 inches long! 

- your 1st birthday party was on October 17th at our house with a circus theme

- on your birthday we noticed you were allergic to either eggs or milk because after eating pancakes for the first time, you broke out if a full-body rash.  Mama immediately called your doctor and they told us to come in within the next hour.  They gave you some benedryl and within an hour you were much better.  A week later you got blood drawn to be tested for allergies.  We found out on October 26th that you were extremely allergic to peanuts, egg whites, almonds, walnuts, cashews and dogs.  And slightly allergic to milk, wheat and soy.  

- you love to swing

- you're about to be in size 4 shoe

- you wear mostly all of brothers hand-me-down clothes and shoes

- you love to open cabinet doors

- you love Jets water and food bowl, still

- you walked with your walker for the first time on November 12th but we weren't able to get it on video but we did a few days later!!

Another Happy Birthday to you!!  We are so thankful for you and feel tremendously blessed that we get to live life with you as our son.  We pray you grow up to know and live like Jesus.

Navy Turns 11 Months

Recap of your month:
- you were dedicated to the Lord!!  And did amazing.
- you are trying to say Dada.  And dada loves hearing you try.
- you buckles fascinate you
- you're pretty rough with your toys.  ha
- you have really strong arms
- you love to rock back and forth when listening to music.  That's your way of dancing.
- you love to eat meat
- you are crawling all over the house
- you still take 3 naps a day
- you love to shake your toys
- you to into your swing for the first time and LOVED it.  There were lots of giggles.
- your 3rd tooth is about to pop out (top left front tooth)
- you're a great sleeper and napper

We had another awesome month with you.  We are thrilled that we get to spend our days with you to watch you grow and learn.  We know you're gonna be an amazing little guy.

Navy Turns 10 Months

Recap of your 10th month:

- you love to slap things.  We think that's your way of feeling things like your books and toys.

- great sleeper and easy to put down to sleep as long as you have your paci and your "blankie" that you love to snuggle.

- started bathing in your ducky tub

- we noticed your first tooth popping out on July 23rd!!

- try so hard to start crawling!

- started crawling on July 31st!!

- second tooth came in

- you like to sleep on your side

- you started standing up in your crib

- you like to stand yourself up beside the couch

- you had spaghetti for the first time

- you traveled to North Carolina with mama and dada for a business with mama's company

- you rode on 4 airplane flights

- you got your second cold :/

- you can get your snacks out of the snack container 

- you started wanting Jets food and water.  you love to splash the water.  

This month was a pretty big month, I'd say.  You go!  We're so proud of you and the little person you've become.
