Navy Turns 31 Months!

Dear Navy,

Another month has gone by, yet again.  These months are flying and we're constantly staying entertained by you.  You're liveliness is infectious.  God made you so so perfect for our family.  It's been so fun to see you flourish this month with in talking and learning.  We pretty much consider you a genius, ha!  :) One thing is for sure, we adore our Navy-dog!!

What you'd been up to this past month:

- says Thank "YOU" (in a high pitch voice) - pretty much the cutest sound
- has peed in the toilet 2-3 times
- even though you've never watched a spider man movie, didn't have any spider man book or toy, you loooove spider man.  In particular, your spider man pj's set that is now too small for you to wear that you refuse to take off for days at a time.   So, we had to get you some more that you were super hesitant about because it wasn't "the" pj's you liked the most.
- loves to sing the Happy Birthday song
- successfully working on putting on your pants and shirts on by yourself
- STILL loves the water table
- loves bubbles + pouring them out onto the ground, ha
- yes "man" is your "yes, ma'am"
- you love to say, "watch this," when you want us to look at you
- your water table is your favorite toy

Until next month....

Our Christmas Tree is Up

Christmas tree time!!  Is it me or did this year literally pass by in a mili-second?  I mean, it's terrible because that means I'm getting older quicker.  Not good, not good.

Anyway, it was time for another family night decorating our tree.  Last year, Bossy was an awesome helper.  And I'd have to say, he was pretty amazing this year, too.  He was really into making sure the ornaments were in the right place and he had some good opinions about which ornaments to add to the tree.  The best part was seeing him so excited to help and interested.  I know he was proud of the end result.

It would have taken me a month of Sundays if he hadn't helped.  Although, it did take a little longer after a little dancing, photo/video taking, singing, time-out episodes and snack breaks.  But we got her up and she's a Beaut!!
Bossy told me to pose.  ha.
 Snack break for the littlest.
Bossy laughed after he took this photo because he caught me off guard and snapped it without me knowing.  Love that little due.
Teaching Bossy the 3 things that you need to start a fire.
 He was the best helper.
Ohhh this guy. He was a mess.  Cranky as all get out.
Our first fire in our "new" fireplace.  *we recently knocked out our tile that surrounded our fireplace and added rock all the way up to the ceiling. more on that later*
So, each year we'll have the boys take a photo of the tree after we've set it up and decorated it.  The two previous years were easy peasy.  This year, not so much.  :)
Navy boy was adamant about not-taking-a-photo.  So we rolled with the punches and snapped a few anyway.  Ha.  You know-for those later photos that we can show to his future wife.  Oh, and to remember that night.  I'm sure I'll laugh later, even though I wasn't laughing at all during the moment.  :)
Until next year, boys!

xo,
Jen

Lowes Trip With Two Kids

This weekend we went over to Lowes to get some new Christmas lights for the outside of our house.  Which means, we made it a family affair with the boys in tow.

There's nothing fancy or exciting about it....just a day that I'll want to remember in about 10 years when their both teenagers and I forget how: a) we left the house without any shoes for Bossy,  b) Navy was starving and I didn't have but one snack, c) Navy throwing his water bottle and emptying out 1/2 of the water onto the floor of an aisle and d) having a total meltdown during checkout.  :) He definitely likes to keep us on our toes!

Oh the joys of having a toddler.

All in all it was a pretty successful trip and one for the memory books....errr blog.

Navy Turns 22 Months Old! ADD PHOTO

Navy,

My my how cool of a little dude you are.  You have such a fun personality.  You're definitely on your own program.  You like things your way and you'll let us know.  It's been a fun month with you watching you grow and become aware of more and more.  This month we sent big brother off to Kindergarten so it's just you and me buddy.  You have definitely kept me on my toes and to keep my mind off big brother being gone, we've been busy.  You've been my errand buddy.  And a handsome one at that!
This is how your month went:
- new word: "dat!" aka that
- loves to put lids on containers.  Every time we give you a sippy cup, you must put the lid on it.  Every time we fill up your bottle with milk, you must put the lid on the milk container.
- you're awesome at telling us that you need your diaper changed when you've pooped.  You'll come up to us with bended knees and with your hands on your diaper while giving out this "eek" noise and when we ask you if you need your diaper changed, you'll run over to the spot we change your diaper at when we are down stairs.
- wears size 2T clothing
- loves the song by Matt Maher "Because He Lived" he will start to dance and hum to the words.
- get told constantly that you look big for your age.
- loves to dance.  Mainly because you know it makes us smile, laugh and want to eat you up.
- anytime mama wears a shirt with letters on it, you always point to them so that she can say each of them to you.  Over and over and over.

We love you more than you'll ever know,
Mama, Dada and Bossy

What Our June Looked Like - 2016

Our June was pretty amazing.  It started off with a bang....with my business being featured in Pregnancy & Newborn magazine.  It was filled with lots of swim lessons, park fun, basketball camp, family time, learning/reading time and Father's day fun.

We really focused on our family time and made the best of each day.  I made a conscious effort to soak up the boys and my time with them while Bossy is home for the summer.
His absolutely favorite thing to do.  Splash and throw water.
Ready books everywhere he can.  Outside, in the car, in restaurants and on the back patio.  Love this guy!
Yes...I take waaaay too many photos of him, but their for our memory book, right?  ;)
Another favorite, swinging and pushing his swing.  He won't dare get into it, but he'll swing it!
His first pair of "check" shoes he picked out.  Aka Nikes.  He's so proud of them and is convinced that they make him run super fast.  He even put them on (wearing nothing but undies) and ran through the house so fast.
Father's Day with my daddy.
Such innocence.  Ahhh, love this age.
Picked out his first basketball.
He's reading SO good.
Outtakes from his 20 month photo.
Last day of preschool for the summer!
