Pensacola Days 4 - 7

It's time for our third (and almost final) post about our family trip to the beach back in October.

Holy bageebers (yes, I say that often) we have ninety pictures on this post.  Yup....I said 9-0, 90.  And I'll just go ahead and tell you that lots of them consist of my baby, my hubby, water, sand, beach and me half nude.  So if you'd like to go ahead and close up this post, I don't blame you.  Because seeing me in a swimsuit isn't my cup of tea either.

For our 4th day, we decided to spend it at the kiddie pool.  Our hotel had 3 pools and one of them was solely for the little beans.  Boston likes to be independent when he swims so this was the perfect pool for him to meander off and play.
Until it was time to do this.  Can you tell we interrupted his play time?  But he was a trooper and at least looked at the camera.  He knows how to keep momma happy (sometimes).  :)
Cheeesee. (to the man standing to the left of us)

By the time we got to the pool it was almost 10am.  Boston played for a good 2 hours and then was out like a light.  We swaddled him and he snoozed for almost an hour and half.  Until a man walked by talking a loud as he could on his cell phone.
This is how we spent our down time.  I caught up on twitter, half way showed my boob and checked out my instagram feed while Jer checked work emails.  We're a good time, I tell ya.
Before B woke up, I ran up to the room and packed/made our lunches.  I knew the little beast would be hungry when he awoke and hungry he was.  On the menu: sandwiches, chips, honeydew melon, cookies, grapes, gardetto's (our family's favorite) and suckers.
Dirty gossip magazines.  They get me every time.
And those sunglasses of Jers.  Yeah, those are mine.  He had misplaced his sunglasses that entire day so he was forced to wear an extra pair I had.  Ha.  Too big on his face, eh?!
The following day (numero 5), this pretty much sums up what we did all-day-loooonnngg.  Total beach bums.
My all time favorite part of the week: every time I got to play with Boston making sand castles, digging in the sand, hearing the waves crashing and driving his toy cars through the sand.  Nothing else mattered in those moments.
Beware, here come many swimsuit shots.  Shield your eyes if needed.
We never really lasted long out in the water because I was too short for the waves.  They knocked us down a few times but some how I was able to keep the baby from going under with me.  All the while Jer was taking our pictures.  I won't show you the ones of me falling down into the water.  I'll keep those for our memory books.  :)
You might be asking yourself....why Jer is wearing a tshirt on the beach?  Well.....that would be because he burnt his back the day before.  Yup, I didn't put enough sunblock on him and he roasted.  Poor dude.  But the main thing - the baby didn't get burnt up!  He did, however, get a tan (browned)!  He's IS mine after all.  I had been waiting for that side of him to come out.  :)

This picture was h-a-r-d to do.  Every time I would write the 2012 and get us ready to mash our feet in the sand the water would come and wash it away.  Ha.  We would laugh so hard.  I think we tried nearly 12 times to get this shot.  It's kinda cool how our footprints look 3D from the way the sun's hitting them.
Well hello my handsome son.
High up on the list of "best moments of the week"....having our baby boy sleep on my chest.  Even Jer thought it was so sweet.
It was pure joy watching these two play in the sand making little tracks for the cars to drive on in the sand.

We thought burying Boston would be fun.  And indeed it was.
He loved throwing the sand.  Which you'll see in the video that I post tomorrow.  :)
Our sixth day was another long beach day.  From 10am to 5pm we lounged around, played, took naps and ate lunch on the beach.
This guy was free to run all around.  He'd often chase the birds that would land on the beach near the water and find seashells.  Sadly we didn't find any that were worthy of us bagging up and bringing back home with us.
Such a lover boy.  Kisses for momma.
I love his love for his dada.
Our lunch boy.  This was the only day we got lunch from the beach bar near the pools.  That was another nice feature about our hotel it had a beach bar that sold drinks and food during the day.  It was almost like being at a resort.  It had all of the same amenities that you'd find a resort but at a cheaper price.  :)
Our last day, we had a flight at 3:30p so we woke up, went down for breakfast and then came back to  pack up the rest of our luggage (we had packed a lot of our stuff the night before) and headed out to the ferris wheel that was down the street from our hotel.
We had to wait until it opened at noon.  In the meantime, we walked around to each of the gift shops for our souvenirs.
It was huge.  And it even had private air conditioned carts.
The "Chuck Taylor" family.  I was very close to stuffing Boston's feet into his gray converse that he's grown out of so he'd match us.  Ha.
Pretty amazing views of both sides of Pensacola beach and the main strip that runs along the ocean.
He wasn't afraid in the least.  Mostly amused by everything he saw being up so high.
We left the ferris wheel and headed to the airport.  Sat down at our gate and within 15 minutes we were ready to board our plane.

One thing that we've started learning about our sweet little guy is that he can be quite the comedian.  He loves to make you laugh.  He does this thing where he pulls his blanket over his head, rips it down and says, "BOO!"  HA.  Here he is showing his comedic skills.
Remember on our flight there he was a lap child?  Well, now that he's two he had to have a seat of his own.  He loved it!  He got to look out the window when he wasn't asleep.  It was a pretty smooth flight back home.  Thankfully.  :)
To sum it all up.  It was a pretty friggin fantastic trip and these recaps have been making us miss our time on vacation turning into beach bums and traveling with our little traveling man, Boston.  We got to spend some much needed quality time together as a family doing whatever we wanted and going where ever we wanted.  We are already setting our sights on our next vacation destination.
