5 year anniversary equals San Francisco

It's that time again - our yearly vacation.  We couldn't decide where we wanted to go, since to us our 5 year anniversary is extra special.  We REALLY wanted to do something beachy, but we couldn't think of a nice beach in the States that we wanted to spend our anniversary at, and since we aren't ready to take B out of the country we decided we'd do an adventurous vacation.  Therefore, we'll be heading west to San Francisco!!!  If there's one thing that Jer and I both L.O.V.E to do it's to TRAVEL.  We have been so fortunate to have been able to travel almost every year of the 15 years we've been together.  Early on, we set out to see as much of the world as we could before having kids.  So, now that B is here, he better be ready to travel too!  We will definitely be a traveling family.  Every year we have always traveled July 5th - 12th.  In fact, Jer has that week marked off on his work calendar for the next couple of years.  Within that date range, we celebrate Jer's birthday (6th), my birthday (11th) and our anniversary (8th).  So we get all 3 knocked out with one trip!  Its a good excuse for our trips each year.  :)

Some of the places we've been to are: New York City, Boston, Jamaica, Cozumel, Cancun area, Keystone, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Cook Islands (honeymoon), Miami, Palm Beach, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.  Now we'll be adding San Fran to our map!  :)

As for our San Fran trip, we have put ourselves on a budget.  This year, with me not working and us having an additional expense (the most precious thing on the planet to us) - our baby, we have to watch our coins.  We'll be leaving the morning of July 5th and coming back late on July 12th.  We'll be staying at the,
San Francisco Marriott Marquis

This hotel is in the heart of downtown San Francisco which means we won't need a rental car.  :)  We will be staying at this hotel for almost half price because with all of Jer's business trips he has racked up thousands of reward points through Marriott that we'll be using towards our hotel stay (I'm glad his business trips aren't for nothing, we actually get vacations out of them :-)).  Plus, we'll be flying American Airlines for only $600 round trip for both of us since B will be our "lap child" and we don't have to pay for a seat for him.  Jer has thousands of AA flight points too, but we are saving those for our trip in early October for B's 1 year birthday or Christmas.

Anyway, we are super duper excited to go sightseeing in San Fran and we hope B will be excited too!  We've heard there is soooo much to see and do there.  It'll be a long, busy but fun 8 days and we can't wait.

TGIF,
~Jeni
