over the weekend

Over the weekend we did LOADS of painting. Oy!
More on that later.
We did some parade watching.
More on that later.
And had some yard fun.

Today Boston turns 21 MONTHS!!!  A 21 month post to come soon.  And a post (tomorrow) about his little 21 month gift from momma and dada.

Weekend, Photo Booths, Miscellany

Friday, my ex sister-in-law got re-married (we are like sisters) and we attended her wedding.  We had an absolute blast dancing and gettin'-our-picture-takin'-on!  Anytime there's a chance for Jer and I to get our picture taken, we make the most of it.  ha.

My last post included some of these pictures but I had to share a few more from that night.

Yup, my husband is so classy. :)

Yesss.....that's my friend, Cece's husband, grabbing her left tata!  ha.  Men.
Ohh, his beloved ball and bat that we got him recently.  He cracks us up.  He makes this face every.single.time he goes up to bat.  It's quite hilarious.
We spent some time with Granny and Papa this weekend.  It's always nice going to visit them.  They are sweetest couple ever!
It doesn't happen very often, but this is a super short post.  Just hadn't had time to get all my pictures uploaded, edited and posted.  That think called life happened this weekend.  I soaked up every ounce of quality time with my two men.  :)

Tomorrow I'll be back with a simple but really cute project.  :)

This and That

--Today we are headed to Tulsa, OK (about 4.5 hours away) with Jer for a deposition he has tomorrow.  Four and a half hours in the car with a 20 month old should be interesting.

--Boston turned 20 months old on Saturday!!  postcomingsoon!

--This past weekend we celebrated my nephew, Noah's, 3rd birthday party.  Boston always has fun with his cousin.  Since Boston and Noah are both into trains (Thomas) we took them yesterday to ride the train.  It was loads of fun!
--I'd love for y'all to come follow us on twitter!  It's a fun way to share what's going on with us almost daily.

--I have been terrible with my dieting.  But it's Monday and I'm determined to get back on track.  Especially since I now have 4 months until we are on the beach in Florida.

--We have finally x-nayed the b.o.t.t.l.t.e.s from Boston.  Cold Turkey.  Hasta La Vista.  Gone.  Bye Bye.  It's been a long time coming.  Oddly, the thought of it has been hard for me.  Since B never took a pacifier, his Dr. Brown bottles were his pacifier.  He would finish his milk and then suck on the bottles while walking around and playing.  They would comfort him in car rides and before going to sleep for naps and at night.  He loved them.  And by taking them away, I felt like I was taking his best friend(s) away.  Crazy/Silly, I know.  It truly makes me sad for him.  But, we've done it and we're not looking back!

Now I just need to find a good sippy cup that he'll like and want to use.  He was always all about the "bottles" before.  Nothing compared.

--I'm excited to show you a project or two this week, that we've created.  You'll have to tell me what you all thing about them!

--I have so many friends that are getting pregnant with their 2nd babies, lately.  Is it weird that I'm not even an ounce ready for another one?  I'm enjoying focusing on B these days.  I don't want to give up that focus right now.  Some days I wonder if I'll ever be ready.  ha.

--Baked broccoli!!!  So yum.  Broccoli, crushed garlic and salt.  Broil for 10 minutes until the garlic caramelizes and voila.....you have a bowl of awesome-ness.
--Be sure to check out my sidebar on the right.  I've added a few new blogs that I'm following!

--I'm so thankful that Boston still takes 2 naps a day.  I'm not sure how I will function when he switches to one.  I already feel like I don't get enough done while he's sleeping during both naps.

--Boston's Temper.....OY!!!  It's been a category 5 lately.  I'm not sure where he's learned it but he has slapped my face and pulled my hair a few times during his fit of rage.  No bueno.  Unacceptable.  So, we started "time out" and it started off rough.  He thought it was a game.  When he would try to get down, we would pick him up and put him back on, and he would laugh at us.  After about a week now, I think he's getting the idea.  Fingers crossed we don't have to do time out very often.

Are there any tips that you all can give on disciplining a head strong toddler???  I'm all ears.

--I still can't decide on a paint color.
--Guess what Monday it is?!  It's the first Monday of the month. And you know what that means.....curb/trash hunting!  Since we are leaving today to OK, we won't have time to walk the neighborhood, so we'll be driving it later.  ha.

Past Few Days

One of my most favorite things that we've done lately is.....we booked our family trip!!!  So excited.  But more on that to come soon.  Such a tease.

Weekend Recap:
Saturday we headed to east Texas to a birthday party and we decided to go alone since it was about a 2 hour drive and we'd be coming home that evening.  So my brother and his girlfriend kindly agreed to watch the B-ster for us.  He has a son, Noah, that he had for the weekend so he brought him along.  Noah and B played so well together.  They love each other so much.  It truly makes me the happiest mommy/aunt.

We missed B while we were gone but knew he was in great hands having a blast!  Bub sent me pictures and even videos of him and Noah playing.  Warmed my heart.

Here's a little snippet of our "trip."
We headed out early Saturday morning and had some breakfast on the road.  We'd never tried ChickFilA's breakfast and, par for CFA's course, it was awesome.
Here's my main man driving.  Thankfully, he's cool with me taking pictures of him anytime anywhere. I had a few crazy pictures of him.  He just can't resist.  He's a silly guy, I tell ya.  But this is the first one I snapped.  :)
Here's me.  I originally sent this to my cousin but decided to share it with y'all too.  ha.  That's me, to a T.  :)  A little on the "nutty" side.  I like it that way.
One of our favorite CD's.  We-jammed-out.
Here's us!  We had time to kill.  So, Jer decided that my car needed a washin' so we sat in a LONNNGG line (like 40 minutes) to go through a drive thru car wash.  So what'd we do?.....lots of this.
Then.....later that evening I had a few too many of these.....it was my night to let loose with my family.  Since the boytoy decided that he'd be our DD.  A good time was had.
Sunday, we met up with my cousin, Shelby, and her boyfriend.  She's sooooo sweet.  Love her to pieces.  We met up for lunch at an AMAZING restaurant called Babe's Chicken.  If you are ever in Texas you have to try to find one and try it out.  I die.
Noah and Boston.  Noah is about to turn 3 and B is 19 months.  I think I have a giant on my hands.  Future NBA player?
Oh I can't forget about my dessert last night.  Since I had been extremely horrible dieting over the weekend, I decided what the heck.....let's go all out.  So I did.  And didn't even feel guilty.  I was in heaven.
Later that evening Jer did some yard work that was desperately needed.  We were those neighbors with that yard.  Jer was slacking.  Boston has a little toy mower that he mows our carpet with and loves it.  So naturally he now loves mowers.  He watched daddy mow the whole time.  He better learn fast.....we believe in putting underage kids to work as quickly as possible.
Some Miscellany:
Lately we had a few days with this green round thing going everywhere with B.
Oh and, yes, we still do cloth diapers.  We do them mainly when we are at home.  If we go out anywhere, I take our disposable diapers.  It works well and saves us some mullah.
Holy moly.....I'm in serious need of some organization in the "picture" department.  I am horrible at this.  I take so many pictures, some with my iPhone and some with my Nikon, and I can't seem to stay caught up on my organization.  I need help.  Major help.  If anyone has any advice on fast, easy and good organization of photos.....please share!  :)

While my brother was here this weekend, he got my HOOKED to this new game/app called LogoQuiz.  One word: obsessed!

Lately

Here lately we've.....attended to 3 birthday parties, had play dates and learned that we need to child-proof more.
At Jaxon's 1st birthday party (before we went to see Thomas the Train, more on that another day).  Love these two.  They are definitely buddies.
Secrets.  :)
Hugs from a buddy.
Uh oh.  Tug of War.  As I take pictures.  Ha.
Jaxon, the birthday boy.  Boston loves little kids, lately.
Sharing his grape with Jaxon.
Buds.
Jaxon with his mommy, Crystal.  Childhood friend and still great friends.  Love her to pieces.  Oh and her house.....well, it's BEAUTIFUL!!!  I guess that comes with being a pharmacist.  And yep, I bug her about what med's to give B when he's sick.  :)

This weekend, we....

Attended Londyn's 1st birthday party.  I totally forgot to take pictures of the birthday girl.....I was too busy taking pictures of this guy.
But I did manage to get a picture of Londyn's daddy with Jer.
Here lately, Boston has been becoming terrified of water.  Even his baths that he's loved so much all of his life.  Not sure what the heck is going on but he must get over it.  I'm hoping this is just a phase.

It must be time for swim lessons asap to kick the fear!

Daddy tried letting him feel the water and he wasn't having it.
Do daddy tried taking him to the other part of the pool where he would be able to walk in.  And nope.  Wasn't happening.
God did me well with blessing me with these two boys.
Later that night, we headed over to Fort Worth for a birthday dinner with my brother!  Love him so much.  I can't believe you're 27, Bub!  :)
Recently, we noticed that this guy is pulling our kitchen and bathroom drawers open and emptying them out.  So not cool.  Especially when he gets a makeup compact and breaks it.
Since he is now more than my height he can even look into the drawers and choose what he wants.
"A cookie cutter looks fun, I'll take that."
Our play date with Londyn and my BFF aka Londyn's mommy, Meghan.  We made cookies that day and prepared the party favors.  Oh and, hung out by the pool.  :)  Hard life.
They love each other.  In a friendly/bff/sister-brother way.  :)  We haven't chosen a girlfriend for him just yet.  Uh huh, we'll choose the girlfriends.  We are kinda picky.  ;)
This makes me and Meg laugh.  He's not sure about the whole "touching the leg" thing.
Oh and then there's the "feeding" part to their relationship.  Such a gentleman.  And yes, we got it on video so that we can show them just in case there's ever a wedding they share.

Happy Monday!
