14 Months - Letter To Our B-Man

Dear Boston,
     Well, little man, you sure are growing up.  It's now December 2011, and Christmas is right around the corner.  To our astonishment, you have continued to grow and mature over these last 30 days.  Not a day goes by when we don't look at you in amazement and adoration.  You remind us of what is important in life - people not things.  We sure hope we are doing right by you.  We want to bring you up as a Jesus-loving, polite and sweet person who puts others first and wants to leave the world better off than how you found it.  We are already beginning to think about your future and how we are going to work hard to ensure you have as many opportunities as possible to gain a good education and the social and life skills necessary to accomplish your goals and desires.  The irony is that we waited so long to have you in our lives and now we seem to focus on doing everything we can to prepare you to leave us and be successful.  That just means we have to make the absolute best of every moment we have together, something we will surely keep in mind.  Our love for you somehow continues to grow deeper, beyond our comprehension.  We are pretty certain you love us, too, which is a fantastic feeling.

As we've usually shared with you, here's what you've been up to lately:

*  You love to mimic people by coughing, screeching or blowing raspberries.  Too cute!
*  You love to pull things behind you with a string and watch them follow you.
*  You love daddy's guitar.
*  You've become a little hand-full when changing your diaper.  :)
*  You loved the Christmas lights.
*  You started waving Bye-Bye!  (but you started waving backwards....waving like you see people waving to you).  Ha.
*  You started saying, "Ball."  More like, "Ba!"
*  You're still a new walker.  :)
*  You started making sure that your sippy cup nipple is turned the right way before drinking.
*  You love to fake cough when you hear other people coughing.  Makes us laugh every.single.time!
*  You started waving, "Hi!"
*  You celebrated your 2nd Thanksgiving.

*  You got a cold and strep throat this month. :( But you were a trooper.
*  You helped us put up the Christmas tree.
*  Your favorite thing to say is, "What's that?"  But more like, "as dat?"  Uber cute!

    We are excited to spend our second Christmas with you, especially since this year you will be able to participate, even if just a little.  Never the ones to let an opportunity to teach you something valuable pass us by, we want you to know that Christmas is a very special time, not just because we spend good time with family and friends, but also, and more importantly, because it is one of two times each year (the other is Easter) when we celebrate and honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who made the ultimate sacrifice for us all.  It's an amazing story that you will learn about soon enough.  We cannot wait to share it with you and personally form your Faith, which will undoubtedly prove to be your greatest asset for a successful life.

Our Hearts Are Filled Because Of You,
Mommy and Daddy
