Quick NYE Recipe

Seriously such a good dessert.  If you're looking to take/make a dessert to an NYE party tonight, this is the easiest recipe ever!
8oz cream cheese
1 can of cherry pie filling
crescent rolls
1 tsp pure vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar
Direction:  mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla in mixing bowl until smooth and spread it out on rolls.  Top the mixture with cherry pie filling.  Pull ends of crescent rolls over and tuck under.  Bake according to crescent roll directions.

Roll out the crescent rolls on a pan.  I use my pampered chef round stone but you can use any type of pan.
Done!  Delish!  I usually cut mine with a pizza roller cutter thingy.  :)

Haystacks Recipe

I have a treat for you in the name of Haystacks.  These are Jers ultimate favorite treats.  What's crazy is I only make them during the holidays.  Not sure why but they've always been something my mother made during Christmas time.  But this year, I'm determined to make these throughout the year for my Mr.  Why?  Because they are SO good and I'd like to eat'm up too.  :)

The three ingredients: chow mein noodles, salted peanuts and butterscotch morsels.
 Directions:
-- add 2 cups of butterscotch to saucepan on low heat and stir until melted.
-- add 1 cup of chow mein and 1 cup of peanuts and stir until it's all mixed.
-- drop 2 tablespoons (or bigger) of mixture onto wax paper and let cool.
That's it.  Now you have some butterscotch-y, peanut-y yumminess!
These would be great for a New Year's Eve party you might be hosting or attending!  If you try them, you must let me know how you loved liked them.  :)

P.S.  Tomorrow I'll be sharing something extremely exciting.  So be sure to check back!

BA-Nanas

I've been wanting to make this since this summer and never got around to it until a few weeks ago.  I've named it Frozen BA-Nanas and Yogurt treats.  And you have to pronounce it with the BA at the beginning of bananas.
It's so simple.  It only needs three ingredients plus some skewers.  Yogurt, granola and bananas.
Open Nature is my go to brand if I don't use organic.
Boston's favorite yogurt lately.  Add some berries and granola and it's on!  Nobody better get in his way.

His other favorite.  He quite possibly could turn into a banana any day now.
This is the first time I let him co-make a dessert with me.  He actually got to do most of it with little assistance from me.  He.was.proud.  :)
Instructions are what they look like:
skewer a banana
roll it in yogurt
roll it in granola
and bam your halfway done.
He rolled them around, tasted them and then rolled them around in the granola again.  Hence, the yogurt on his lips with granola hanging off.
I set mine out on some parchment paper on top of my pampered chef stone and put it in the freezer for an hour.  They were good and ready by then
He gladly finished off the leftovers.

Simple and fun way to let your toddlers help make a sweet treat for them.

Ready to Tackle Some Fall Soups

You heard that right.  This Mrs. is ready to try out some fall soups.  It's that time.  The time where the weather gets cold for 2 days and then shoots up to 80 something the next.  We call it the "Texas Weather."  You never know what kind of weather you're going to get day by day.

But since it was in the 50's for a few days and it's supposed to be in the 40's this weekend, it's making me want some soups.  I may even make Jer break out a fire so we can have some soup by the fire.

I don't want to make just any ol' soups, I want some soups that I've never made before (which isn't many, this chica isn't much of a souper, yes that's my made up word).

Every other week I'm going to try making a new one.  On the agenda for this weekend is this whole-some yummy looking soup:

Creamy Mushroom and Chicken Soup
Here are the other's I've chosen.  Ohhh and they all came from Pinterest which took me to this website that had 25 different fall soups to choose from.
Here's the next soups/chili's I'll be making in order:
Beef and Black Bean Chili

White Chili with Chicken
 Best-ever Beef Stew
 Creamy Corn and Potato Chowder
If that doesn't get you in the fall mood.  Then so sorry for you.  :)  I'll be sure to let you know what I thought of the soup and the recipe (easy or hard to make) as I make them.

P.S. Come back tomorrow to check out a little DIY toddler stencil shirt I made for the little man a few months back!

Quick Summer Recipe: Corn Salsa

One of Jer's favorite's is when I make this corn salsa.  The guy can put down some corn salsa and tortilla chips.  I secretly think he should have been Latin, too.  :)  He L.O.V.E. loves it.  I make it maayyyybe once every two months.  If he's lucky.

But since it's summer and it's very light and healthy I decided I'd make it more often this summer.  I've actually made it twice this summer.

When I say its easy that means there's no cooking, blender action or baking.  Just some plain ol' cutting of some veggies/a corn bag, shaking (your salt) and squeezing (your lime) involved.
Here's what you'll need:

sweet corn * avocado * lime * cilantro * onion * salt * tomato * black beans (optional)

Most times, I add a can of black beans to it but I didn't have any on hand.
Once your veggies are cut, you mix everything together.  Annnd....wholla!  You have yourself some delicious refreshing corn salsa to add to any meal or just eat alone with some chips.
This evening, we included it as a side to our meal.  Steak, white beans & brown rice (short grain which has the most nutrients) and corn salsa.  It was....Perfecto!
