7UP Smoothie

I heart Pinterest!

A few years ago I found this drink on Pinterest.  Every now and then I'll make this drink and it's always so dang good.  It's like a bananaslashstrawberry smoothie/slush.  You see, I have a huge sweet tooth.  A meal isn't complete until I've had a taste of something sweet.  So when I'm looking for something to cure that craving that isn't tooooo bad and when I have everything on hand I'll throw this smoothie together to fill that craving.  It seriously is so delicious.  You can also use LaCroix sparkling water.  I often do that, too.

The 4 ingredients you need: banana + strawberries + ice + diet 7UP or Sprite!
The order you do things is totally up to you.  I like to blend my strawberries first, banana second and ice third.
Once texture is nice and slushy (the way I like it), I add the 7UP and blend it, too.  If you don't like it slushy, it's also really good with whole ice cubes.  Kinda like an "on the rocks" drink.  :)
Pour it in a glass and enjoy!  Ahhh...can't wait to make another one tomorrow.
Let me know if you try this!  I'd love to hear your thoughts.  :)

xo,
Jen

Oh Pinterest, I Heart You! Here's What I'm Loving Lately

I rarely get on Pinterest these days but when I do I could literally spend hours perusing all of the goodness it has to offer.  These are some of the things that I pinned recently.  A little bit of everything.  Some easter, some DIY, some fashion and some recipes!

If you'd like the links to these they're all pinned in my boards!  You can follow/find me HERE. :)

I Made What I Pinned: 7UP Smoothie

Yep, you read that right, it happened.  I actually made something that I pinned.  And I have a few more up my sleeve that I'll be making and forcing my family to try (eat) in the next couple of days.  The ingredients have already been bought.

I pinned this drink recipe when I read in the description that it's ZERO points with Weight Watchers.  Boom.  It was pinned.

And then, guess what?  I made it.  I finally had all of the ingredients I needed.  I'd been dying to try it out.

Annnd.....it was DE-lish!  It tasted just like a strawberry-banana smoothie except it was carbonated with a little kick of lime in it.  The best part, besides being able to drink it all day long because it is zero points, was that it tasted good without having to add any sugary-somethin' (like yogurt).

All you need is:
--> A blender (I used my bullet because it's easier to clean and works like a charm. why when I say bullet does it take my mind to the gutter?  I've been to waaaay too many "parties." 2 too many.)
--> ice
--> diet 7UP (you can use regular 7UP but it won't be zero points)
--> strawberries
--> banana
Since I had my bullet out, I went ahead and threw in some kale, carrots, flaxseed mill, strawberries, half a banana, celery and a few chunks of fresh pineapple and made B a smoothie too.  He hadn't had one in a couple of weeks so it was a nice treat for him.  And it's so freakin' adorable when he asks for more by saying, "Mas, mooty!"  Yes, the kid still insists on saying "more" in Spanish.  And I love it.  Except when he goes to church and says it to the ladies teaching him and they don't understand him.  Ha.  You win some, you lose some. :)
I made the mistake of letting Bos drink his on the couch while laying near my pillow. #littlegreenmustache

Oh and while you're here....check out these awesome blogs and their awesome little families:

Some Major Crushes Lately

If you know anything about me, you know that I love me some DIY.  I feen for it.  Often.  It's my addiction.  Like nicotine is to Lindsay Lohan or fashion is to Rachel Zoe.  I just can't stop.

I love trying to turn ugly ducklings into something beautiful.  Whether it be for our home, making/building something from scratch or diy'ing something to wear (hint: a future diy I'll be sharing with y'all), I like to make things pretty.

Anywho.

These are just a few of the DIY projects that I'm majorly crushing on these days.....oh....and that are pretty simple that anyone could tackle....
I may have done a few of these already.  ;)

You can find all of these on my pinterest board.

This And That

loving these new pumps I got from Target the other day for $8.98.  best part, their comfy!
love this website.  i made my first purchase the other day.  some nicely discounted washi tape!
really want this lens for my camera.  but then I'd have to learn how to use it.
still loving my flip.  i might use it too much.
loving these new hot pink pants I got at Nordstrom rack last week.
Boston might be a little obsessed with this movie.  it's such a good movie.  Jer and I both love it.  it's the first movie that Boston's ever watched (that wasn't Baby Einstein) and the first movie that he's ever cried about when it ends.  i'm talking crocodile tears.  oh and it was in the $5 bin at walmart.
while at Target over the weekend, I saw this coral-ish colored half dozen egg crate and fell in love.  it was only $4 but I had Jer with me.  he wouldn't see the need in a ceramic egg crate.
Can't wait to try these Pinterest recipes.
avocado chicken salad
eggplant and feta
crock pot meatballs
spinach and feta stuffed portabella mushrooms
Ruche has some of the cutest dresses.  Here's a few that I'm loving.

LOVING that Boston says his last name when asked.  It's so stinkin' adorable.  I got it on video Monday and, of course, sent it to all of the grandparents. :)
