They Call Me Mama - Emily

Seriously....this is the most adorable family picture I've seen in a long time. I love it so much. And those babies and all their smiles.....to die for!!

I love this little family. They are so down to earth and real. Emily writes all about their lives. The good and the bad. Open and honest. I love that about her. She's so relatable. Emily has such strength that I truly adore....by reading her introduction about her family you'll know why:

"I am a 20-something small-town girl who met a city boy and fell in love! We have been happily married for over 5 years. I love Jesus, Diet Coke, pictures, organizing, and my Chiropractor. ;) God blessed us with a twin pregnancy and the Lord has baby Ryder on His lap. We are so blessed to have Wyatt here on earth with us. Almost a year ago our family expanded to a family of 4...Baby Sloane came March 13th, 2012! We love the Lord and know His "blessings are new every morning.""

Mandi from Messy Wife, Blessed Life

I'm so excited to share with you an adorable momma, Mandi, and her sweet little family. She write over at Messy Wife, Blessed Life where she talks about marriage, motherhood and things that work for their little family. If haven't already gotten hooked by her blogs posts and precious little baby girl you need get over and check her out!!

Today she's sharing why she started her blog......

I started blogging on October 2010, three months after I married my sweet husband, David.

David and I met in March 2008. In August of that year, he moved out of state to start graduate school. I thought a long distance relationship would never last.

We got engaged in July 2009 and married one year and one day later, just after I graduated from college.

When we married, I moved out of state to be with him. I loved never having to say goodbye to my husband.

But I was unexpectedly lonely. For the first time, I was far from family and friends, in a new place where I could only venture to the grocery story without getting lost. Not only that, I was figuratively in a new place as well. I was the first of my friends to marry. I felt all alone. So I started my blog.

Those first few months of blogging were such a blessing, especially as struggling with the decision of whether or not to try to conceive. It wasn't something I could talk about with my single friends. They had the same view of motherhood that I had when I was single, just a few months before: that we should wait to get pregnant until my husband graduated, got a good job, and we bought a house. But being married changed my heart and we unexpectedly found ourselves eager to become parents. And a few months later, we were on our way:

When I became pregnant, blogging became about something bigger.

My husband and I were in this together, so I didn't exactly feel alone. But I felt inexperienced.

Through blogging, I connected with other young moms. I found answers to my burning questions on pregnancy and motherhood.

I found other women that were just as intimidated and inspired by motherhood as I was.

This blog has gotten me through unexpected hardships and the winding road of life.

We've made two moves since my blog began. From Indiana to North Carolina when my husband's graduate adviser moved unexpectedly. I was five months pregnant.

After my husband graduated last May, we moved back to Colorado (and in with my parents) while he continues his job search.

Since becoming a mother, my blog has changed and so has my reason for blogging. It's still a source of incredible community with other women, but now it's also become somewhat of a love letter to my family.

I celebrate the beauty of motherhood.

The gift of life.

The love of family.

I record the little moments, holding on to them, as she grows...

And grows...

I seek advice.

I share what works for us.

The joys of motherhood.

The blessings of marriage.

The hardships too.

I blog because this life is too big not to share.

My life is messy, but I am so, so blessed.

I Made What I Pinned: 7UP Smoothie

Yep, you read that right, it happened. I actually made something that I pinned. And I have a few more up my sleeve that I'll be making and forcing my family to try (eat) in the next couple of days. The ingredients have already been bought.

I pinned this drink recipe when I read in the description that it's ZERO points with Weight Watchers. Boom. It was pinned.

And then, guess what? I made it. I finally had all of the ingredients I needed. I'd been dying to try it out.

Annnd.....it was DE-lish! It tasted just like a strawberry-banana smoothie except it was carbonated with a little kick of lime in it. The best part, besides being able to drink it all day long because it is zero points, was that it tasted good without having to add any sugary-somethin' (like yogurt).

All you need is:

--> A blender (I used my bullet because it's easier to clean and works like a charm. why when I say bullet does it take my mind to the gutter? I've been to waaaay too many "parties." 2 too many.)

--> ice

--> diet 7UP (you can use regular 7UP but it won't be zero points)

--> strawberries

--> banana

Since I had my bullet out, I went ahead and threw in some kale, carrots, flaxseed mill, strawberries, half a banana, celery and a few chunks of fresh pineapple and made B a smoothie too. He hadn't had one in a couple of weeks so it was a nice treat for him. And it's so freakin' adorable when he asks for more by saying, "Mas, mooty!" Yes, the kid still insists on saying "more" in Spanish. And I love it. Except when he goes to church and says it to the ladies teaching him and they don't understand him. Ha. You win some, you lose some. :)
I made the mistake of letting Bos drink his on the couch while laying near my pillow. #littlegreenmustache

Looks so good! The best part is it only requires 3 ingredients: bananas, cinnamon and honey. I'll be trying this today except I'll substitute the honey for agave nectar (we don't have honey).
