Cook Family Pictures 2012

While we were in Pensacola back in October the second to last day we decided to try to take our own family pictures.  We went out just before the sunset so that the sun wasn't directly on top of us and let me say, the sun set fast.  Even though it was perfect weather and minimum wind there was a lot of humidity and my hair fell and frizzed up quicker than I could say, "Hurry guys let's get these pictures taken, momma's starving."

Since we didn't take our tripod, we used our stroller as our camera stand.  There was even a wedding going on about 50 yards away from us while we were taking them.  Yeah, we probably got the stink eye from some of their guests but nothing was going to stop us.  we were those people.

All in all it was a success and failure.  Success because I did get a few good shots that I absolutely love and have even been hung on our wall aready and a failure because the sun was so orange that most of the photos turned out with a-too-orangy-look-for-my-taste look.

Nonetheless, they will serve as a fun memory for us.

Are we the only ones that use a stroller to act as a tripod?  Are we the only ones that try to take our own family photos?  Am I the only one that has humid-hair-problems when taking pictures on the beach?

  1. These photos are beautiful! I don't blame you at all for wanting to get some great family shots at the beach. I would have done the same thing. :-)

  3. What beautiful pictures! I've never been to Pensacola, which is weird considering I'm in Florida and heard it was beautiful up there. (I'm down in South Florida, near Boca Raton.)
